Regaled Inflorescence started in a backyard. Just kidding, but really–ours is the typical kind of modern-day story that began online with an Instagram page and a phone (it turns out, there is a fluorescent world of things you can accomplish with a single handheld device these days).

The name Regaled Inflorescence has a somewhat hidden, multifaceted meaning. Regaled means to lavish with sumptuous delight such as food, drink, or even storytelling. It’s somewhat of a dated word you might not hear as regularly in colloquial language today.

For me, regaled brings to mind images of a feast in a great hall hosting the grandest of banquets. I imagine platters filled with the finest of food and drink, and rapturous delight intertwined throughout–a setting fit for true royalty. I think of guests becoming full to their hearts’ content and this idea of delight overflowing to the brim and beyond, like scarlet red wine filling a sparkling gold, gem-studded goblet. Regale, a word that seems to have lost its place in modern-day usage.

On the other hand, florescence denotes the state of flowering or blooming. It refers to (yep you guessed it) flowers, but can also signify a general period of flourishing. What’s notable to me is that it describes more of a condition. The word evokes the image of a garland gracing a woman’s head in my eyes.

On a related note, inflorescence is another word at play here which refers more specifically to how flowers or blossoms are arranged on a plant. But altogether, for me both regaled and inflorescence are words that evoke images of royalty, which in all honesty, is what I believe women at our hearts truly are.

With that being said, even though Regaled Inflorescence was made with women in mind, it’s not solely for women. The purpose of Regaled Inflorescence is to provide wanderers, travelers, seekers, dwellers, passersby, and those longing for home with a place they can come to–a garden if you will–where their souls can be cultivated in grace and truth. Grace and truth being a cornerstone of this organization, and really, combined perfectly in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I won’t attempt to hide the Christian roots and biblical values of Regaled Inflorescence as well, since I think you should know the motivation behind what we do. But this also compels me to say that all are truly welcome to a seat at the table here. All are invited to the banquet. 

Whether you’re a ministry leader who’s spent your life in the church or you’ve never dared step foot within its stained-glass windows, I’m glad you’ve stopped by. And truly, I hope you’ll stay, kick up your feet, sit at the Father’s table, and rest your weary soul awhile. Because the God of Heaven has been calling to you.
